Beyond traditional support: Our unique approach
What sets Expand's mental health programs apart?
Schools cannot run without staff. We believe that staff wellbeing is just as important as student wellbeing. In fact, supporting student welfare follows much more seamlessly when staff feel supported.
Staff workshops focus on:
- Promoting coping strategies that have depth: Workshops support staff to ground, recharge and reconnect. This is done through exercies and by promoting practical ways of applying coping strategies within busy and demanding environments.
- Psychoeducation: Informative workshops that look at what burnout is, how it can be prevented and common mental health issues that are often ignored for adults.
- Creating solutions: Workshops focus on understanding the daily challenges teachers and eductional support staff face within the education system. Workshops are geared at advoacting and exploring the ways in which staff can hone their sense of agency and collaborate creatively about new approaches.
- Team-building: Team building sessions often involve interactive activities designed to encourage collaboration, a sense of lightheartedness and trust building, with the view of strengthening team morale and a collective sense of purpose.
